My daily COVID-19 journey

A brief background:  I attended a birthday party ๐ŸŽ‰and had too much sugar aka cakes ๐ŸŽ‚ and other desserts ๐Ÿฎ that night and the day after. The attendees were all living in the same building with less than 10 people but the party was held in an enclosed flat.  Day 1 (April 1, 2021) I woke up with a sore throat. I am not new to this because I have very sensitive tonsils and they can easily get swollen whenever I consume lots of sweets and not drink enough water๐Ÿšฐ afterwards. I tried home remedies such gargling with warm salt water, consuming Strepsils every 4 hours and drinking hot water with Thieves essential oil to ease the pain but to no avail.   Day 2  The pain won’t go away so I examined my tonsils and found some white patches on the right tonsil, an indication of infection. I then decided to take an antibiotic (Co-Amoxiclav ๐Ÿ’Š). Day 3  After 3 doses of antibiotics, there were no significant changes in my condition so I changed the antibiotic to Eythromycin h...

My COVID-19 story

I am a nurse ๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍⚕️, a frontliner who deals with a lot of people who have different kinds of needs. I am greatly exposed to known and unknown diseases of man and it is a risk I embraced when I took the oath. I consider nursing as a calling and not just a profession because one must be passionate enough in caring for the patients regardless of their status and condition.  But this pandemic has shaken and tested my nursing values and beliefs. I almost came to a point where I wanted to quit this job but due to some reasons, I just couldn't give up.  Everyday, I get to deal with hard and irresponsible people in my care. Those people who cannot follow simple rules such as proper wearing of mask inside the health facility. They are the very reason why this pandemic seems to last forever ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿฝ‍♀️.
