A little background of my US Nursing journey/ my ultimate American dream: January 6, 2019- Passed NCLEX-RN under NY State August 30, 2020- Hired by CommuniCare through WWHS (Worldwide Health Staff Solutions) November 2, 2020- Started VisaScreen November 6, 2020-  ETA9089 Signed and mailed November 21,2020 - Took IELTS via IDP December 3, 2020 - IELTS result (Speaking 6.5) remarking done January 6, 2021 - IELTS Score in writing and speaking increased to 7.0 January 21, 2021- VisaScreen certified February 4, 2021 - Priority Date (PD) I-140 (premium processing) filed  February 10, 2021 - PD approved February 25, 2021 - Case was sent to department of stat March 11, 2021- Fee bill issued April 28, 2021- Ohio nursing license endorsement started May 3, 2021- Ds260 submitted May 11, 2021- Documentarily Qualified (DQ)  May 26, 2021- Requested for expedite interview July 15, 2021- Expedite request denied October 13, 2021- NVC interview letter received November 14, 2021- Medical done November 16,

I've always dreaded taking the IELTS exam because I'm not confident in my speaking abilities since I grew up in a family where we always communicated in Filipino. Even though English is the medium of instruction in schools and at work, I always find myself stuttering and lost for words. 😐 Way back in the early years of my career, a lot of my friends and co workers opted to take the IELTS to go for an English-speaking country to continue their careers but since I didn't have enough funds and I fear failing the exam, i chose to work in the Middle East instead. Little did I know that I still have to take the exam years later when I have finally decided to pursue my American 🇺🇸 dreams. Luckily the scores needed for US is less than of the UK, Australia, New Zealand etc.  My IELTS exam was postponed once, I was supposed to take it in April 2020 but due to the pandemic, all examination centers were closed and a total lockdown was implemented in Oman.
